The Mora Basic Wood Carving Knife is perfect for getting started with woodcarving. It features a blade very similar to the 106 wood carving knife but with a high grip plastic handle, making it easier to use for hands of all sizes. The 2.0mm thick stainless steel blade comes razor sharp out of the box and it all sits nicely in a basic plastic sheath.

Who is the knife good for?
The wood carving basic is an excellent choice for kids & starters. It's plastic handle is easier to manipulate and grip, especially for smaller hands. When fined detailed work is require it's excellent for that too. The next step up would be the Mora 120 or 106, with it's smaller wooden handle, it can be easier to do much finer worker.
This knife is stainless, aren't really sharp knives carbon?
Morakniv's stainless steel is excellent quality and is sharper than carbon steel from other brands, the great thing about their stainless is the edge retention, meaning less time's between sharpens.
